I purchased Rite Aid brand Daily Skin Facial Scrub from Rite Aid on my quest to find a lower cost daily face wash that wouldn't dry out or be too harsh on my skin.

Rite Aid Daily Skin Facial Scrub is Rite Aids alternative to Aveeno's Skin Brightening Daily Scrub. I really like Aveeno products so I was curious how good Rite Aids copycat would be.

The purpose of this product is to calm and soothe the face and improve skin tone and blotches. It does this by gently exfoliating away the dead, dull skin and by using soy to soothe and improve circulationhelping soothe patchy looking skin caused by uneven flushing.

The first time I used this product I was pretty surprised. When I put it on and gently scrubbed with my fingertips I was a little bit concerned that the exfoliating microbeads could barely be felt and seemed almost as if I had gotten 3 or 4 beads to exfoliate my whole face. Once I rinsed it off my face immediately felt fresh and clean and... "happy".  I was surprised by this because I usually do not get that clean feeling unless I use a cleaner with soap in it and when I use a cleanser with soap in it my face will feel tight, dry and over all "not happy".

In the long term, washing once per day for 6 months it has done what it is supposed to. Within' a week I noticed my skin looking more even, pores became less visible. Its effective cleaning helped prevent mild breakouts and gave me a mild visible glow without drying my face out. Now 6 months later I continue to see an effect although I do think I have plateaued and am maintaining rather than improving.

One thing I did notice was that it wasn't very effective removing eye makeup. Specifically liners and heavy makeup close to the lash line. I do think this is in part because I tend to hesitate using exfoliating products on the extremely fragile skin under the eye ( I was mauled by a microdermabrasion mitt when I used it on my eyes when I was 15... mentally scarred for life. ) and probably did not give it the scrubbing it deserved, opting instead to use gentle makeup removal pads.

I also do not think this product will do much for uneven skin tone caused by severe acne and acne scarring. It does not contain an acne medication and it is intended to treat uneven skin tone caused by odd flushing because of poor circulation, dead skin cells and removing dirt from pores and the skins surface.
